As early as 1876, James Burrough produced the first orange gin and used oranges from London's Covent Garden market. Desmond Payne today uses the classic Beefeater Dry in its production and combines it with natural essences from red oranges, which are added only after distillation. The result is a fresh Beefeater Blood Orange. It has a distinct orange color that remains even after mixing with tonic and a pleasant bittersweet taste.
